Matter vs the professional systems
Matter is brilliant for DIY and mid-market smart homes. But it is not a replacement for professional control systems — at least not yet. Here is why:
- No scene orchestration: Matter supports basic scenes, but not the complex multi-device, multi-room sequences that Control4 or Savant deliver.
- No custom UI: You get the platform's app. You cannot create a bespoke touchscreen interface for your home.

Buy Matter-certified devices today. They work immediately with your existing platform and will only get more capable as the standard evolves. Avoid buying into proprietary ecosystems that have not announced Matter support.
